This is a great book by Jack D. Sabo. Drawings/sketches are well done too and very illuminating.
Tremendous insights and craft learnt through real experience. Amazing book, just what I needed.

I've reviewed this tome once before, but it's so good. I'm happy to do it again. This book is all you'll ever need for timber framing. There are others, costilier, but unless you're moving to Paris to rebuild notre dame, you'll never need them.

This book is awesome! I have had it a couple weeks now and I can’t stop reading it. I am looking into building a timber frame project and this book covers all the ins and outs of timber framing. Great book for anyone interested in diy projects or an interest in historical construction.

This is NOT a Coffee Table Book. It contains Valuable information of the History of Timber Framing and includes many pictures of Historical Construction, Building Designs, and the Important Types of Joinery used ages ago that apply to Modern Timber framing!!!

Let me start by saying: I bought this book thinking I’d casually learn how to build a quaint little garden shed. What I didn’t expect was to be spiritually awakened by mortise and tenon joints.
It’s not just a manual. It’s a lifestyle. A philosophy. A wooden revolution.
10/10. Would buy again if I hadn’t already memorized every glorious page.

I got this book for my hubby as a birthday gift and he loves it. He reads it just about every night before going to bed. Just like someone would read a novel. He is getting into timber framing so this book has really helped him understand the process more.

Absolutely AMAZING book about timber frame construction. It's actually the second time I've purchased this, we misplaced the first one and needed another to help with the planning of a new building. If you are interested in timber frame construction, you'll want to own a copy of this book.

I don’t remember how I came across this book many years ago. It’s an excellent book, I just bought one for a friend who wants to learn about residential wood frame structures.

This was a great read. The book gives great historical background as well as modern reasoning behind building timber frame structures. My family built a balloon frame home a couple of years ago and I am now looking forward to giving timber framing a shot. The shed outlined in this text seems very doable with the techniques then applicable to larger structures. I would definitely, and have, recommend this book to a friend.
